The Rotary Club of Wahpeton connects people of diverse professions and talents to enrich the lives of all we serve.
The club has been active locally and internationally. In 1940 we purchased an iron lung for the local hospital and currently are supporters of the Polio Plus campaign to rid the world of the virus. Our recent international service has been in Guatemala and helping to support a malaria project in Tanzania. On May 3, 2011 we presented a old City of London, England double-decked bus that we had rebuilt over the prior nine years to the Parks Department. Recently it has been used by the public library in a literacy program, the United Way to "Stuff The Bus" with school supplies for the needy and more recently by ourselves and the Breckenridge club to "Fill The Bus" for the Richland-Wilkin food pantry. We collected 4,836 pounds of food and $ 1,872.00 cash for the pantry over two days. A third day is planned.
